These 4 easy steps will help you start to feel healthy starting today. They are the foundation for all of the other layers to building a healthy and sustainable life. Incorporating these into your life can make a big difference in how you feel, move and react to what life is throwing at you.

Your body is a vessel, a living meat suit, for your soul or your spirit. At your core, you are the energy that lives within your body. Your body has been given to you so you can live here on earth, experience life and learn the lessons you are meant to learn. If you take care of your body, you will have a better opportunity to live here longer and thus experience more.

The keys to living a healthy life are within the connection to your mind, body and spirit. So here are some tools to help connect all three elements.

1. Sleep.

Plain and simple sleep matters; not just the quality but also the quantity. Depending on what source of information you look to, there are many different thought processes on what is best but you are the only person who knows YOU. For me, I need eight hours of sleep a night to function at my best. I can work on less but over time it wears me down and I begin to fail. I monitor my quality on my smart phone and if there is anything that I can do to make adjustments then I do them. Using a black-out blind or a sleep mask, clearing all bright light from your room, using ear plugs and limiting screen time before bed are all great ways to increase your quality of sleep.

2. Nutrition.

Getting optimal nutrition is key to maintaining a healthy body. Your body is like an engine and needs quality fuel to burn. This does not mean a “diet” or a “fad”, this is a long term sustain- able way of eating. Knowing HOW your body works can help you learn what works best for you. Experiment with what you eat, be aware of how your body reacts to food. What you crave, what your body is looking for.

Stay away from processed food. Eat lots of vegetables, proteins, good fats and moderate your sugars. Your body burns fat best, it burns longer and maintains good brain function. Eating healthy fats every day in moderation can help you lose weight, help clear your mind and sustain your appetite for longer.

3. Meditate

The only way you can meditate wrong is not to do it. Seriously, no matter if you do it for one minute to start or all day if you are experienced; the benefits are vast. Meditation clears the chaos of the mind.

You can never stop the thoughts but you can clear them or calm them. Like an ocean wave, you can not expect to stop it but meditation takes the wave from a raging sea wave to a calm sea.

Meditation gives you the opportunity to connect to your inner self, to get to know yourself on a higher level. Unlike prayer, which sends your energy out, It allows you to download. Meditation allows you receive from the universe.

4. Exercise

Just like meditation, the only way to exercise wrong is not to do it. Whether it is 20 minutes a day or hours at the gym, fit it into your life. Your body will function better on the inside and on

the outside. Your energies balance and your organs maintain health longer. Find something that you can fit into your life and then commit to it.

If you were to change but nothing in your life but these 4 steps, over time you would see a substantial shift in your health, happiness and mindset. It can really be that simple.
